26 weeks old ! Another busy week , hazard has encountered her first Christmas tree, has donned antlers and learnt about Christmas tree decorations- and so far she hasn’t eaten any so we are winning!! She has sniffed them so far but that’s it. Not like duke’s first Christmas where he ate at least 4 baubles.
Her recall is staying strong, I’ve recalled her from horses, swans, ducks and even other playful dogs. I like her to play with dogs but I also like to know she’ll come back when I need her to. You never know when you’ll need it.
Christmas is in full swing in this house but I’m not brave enough to bring the wrapped presents down yet because I know she’ll rip those!! She has managed to not chew the tree I don’t want to push my luck.
We are trying to teach her to behave around food – at the moment she is a-little eager and although she doesn’t snatch food off plates she will definitely try to lick your plate when you aren’t looking!
She is getting better at “wait” “middle” and “heal” – Lead walking is hard because we practice off leash so much I forget to enforce the on leash walking to heal! We are working on it. I’m sure we will get the hang of it.
I’ve been trying her with different dog toys while out walking. She loves them but mostly wants to chase duke and his ball !!
